Public service media companies must be experts at leveraging content online to succeed in the digital space.

In the algorithmic online world, it’s the commercial agendas of big tech firms that determine what we see and when.

Conversely, EBU Members provide a plurality of views, quality content, and trustworthy information based on the public interest.

How public service media (PSM) manage their online presence is pivotal to ensuring their online services and content are prominent and findable.

What are we doing about it?

The EBU helps public service media to strengthen their platforms and guide them towards effective distribution strategies. We also speak to big tech platforms on behalf of public service media.

Through EBU groups, events, and publications, we enable the exchange of knowhow and peer collaboration.

Learn below about our initiatives in support of PSM online.

The Digital Services Act (DSA) is an EU law to safeguard online users from illegal content and harmful algorithms. Read handbook to better understand the issues at stake.
